Single Day Alpine Climbing: Single Day Alpine Climbing covers routes that can be completed in a single long climbing day with an early or "alpine" start. This includes most classic routes in the park.
Overnight Alpine Climbing: Overnight Alpine Climbing covers very long or difficult routes that require camping or "bivying" at the base of the route and often see us climbing opening pitches before the sun rises. The experience of bivying is a memorable adventure and also a useful skill for those planning on further committing climbs in the future. FAQ:
Do I need previous rock climbing experience?
For Alpine climbing adventures at least some
prior experience is required. We have some
really easy and accessible routes but if you
are not used to spending time in a harness
and hanging from a rope, even these may feel
like too much a challenge. We don't want to
underestimate the "exposure fatigue" that can
develop from being in a challenging new
environment!
Is there a minimum age requirement to climb?
You must be at least 14 years old to Alpine
climb.
Can I bring my own equipment?
Sure! We will just need to inspect it to make
sure it is in good condition.
What happens if the weather forecast is poor?
We can climb through a lot but if we
determine the forecast is a safety issue we
will reschedule your climb or find a suitable
alternative objective for your day. We cannot
offer refunds for poor weather cancellations.
