The North Face of Hallett Peak towers the Tyndale Gorge and along with the famous Emerald Lake is purported to be one of the most photographed vistas in Colorado. Many of the areas visitors have no idea that they are photographing one of Colorado's most accessible big alpine walls. With some of the best quality rock and most consistent climbing the routes on Hallett are worthy of their classic status. A fairly short approach to this 1000 foot tall wall makes it a great place to refine alpine climbing skills for bigger objectives.

FAQ:

Do I need previous rock climbing experience?

For Alpine climbing adventures at least some prior experience is required. We have some really easy and accessible routes but if you are not used to spending time in a harness and hanging from a rope, even these may feel like too much a challenge. We don't want to underestimate the "exposure fatigue" that can develop from being in a challenging new environment!

Is there a minimum age requirement to climb?

You must be at least 14 years old to Alpine climb.

Can I bring my own equipment?

Sure! We will just need to inspect it to make sure it is in good condition.

What happens if the weather forecast is poor?

We can climb through a lot but if we determine the forecast is a safety issue we will reschedule your climb or find a suitable alternative objective for your day. We cannot offer refunds for poor weather cancellations.
